The Vision (In My Head) is an abstract watercolor built from the earliest and strongest memory at the root of the artist’s PTSD — the first image that stayed, the one that returned night after night, and the one that carried other visions with it over the years.
Rather than depicting the event literally, the artwork uses symbolic imagery: a burning interior space, two isolated figures, and a sense of heat closing in. These elements represent the emotional impact of the moment — the fear, the helplessness, and the way a single experience can become the spark that ignites decades of recurring visions.
This piece is the beginning of a larger body of work exploring the internal landscape of trauma. The Vision (In My Head) is the first doorway — the origin point of the images that followed.
